Whether you're seeking a peaceful stroll or a more challenging hike, the nearby trails offer breathtaking views and a chance to immerse yourself in the natural beauty of South Devon.

BOLBERRY DOWNS

Within walking distance or a 5-minute drive from the park is Bolberry Downs … 100 acres of open cliff-top land, where the South West Coast Path winds its way along the most beautiful, wild and dramatic coastline. With wide open skies, on clear nights, this is a perfect place for stargazing!


There is a variety of paths to discover, most with breath-taking views. Wonderful walking for all ages and abilities due to the flat terrain … a dog walking paradise with plenty of parking (incl. disabled) and a new dog-friendly restaurant and bar (with terrace) called “Oceans”. 

Some paths are buggy and wheelchair friendly. A fabulous place to fly a kite! You’ll love it!

Bolberry Park Run every Saturday morning at 9am. A free, fun, and friendly weekly 5k community event. Walk, jog, run, volunteer or spectate – it's up to you!

SOAR MILL COVE

To the east of Bolberry Down, following along the South West Coast Path, why not take the time to discover one of England’s wildest coves, as listed in “ The Wild Guide “ by Wild Things Publishing  (mentioned in the Guardian) and “ Hidden Beaches and Wild Swimming “  by Daniel Smart or in the “ Wanderlust Travel Magazine’s 7 Secret Beaches“. 


The Soar Mill Cove Hotel is a short walk up above the cove that always welcomes walkers for morning coffees, light lunches and cream teas


For the more energetic, there is a stunning circular walk along the cliff top path, (having parked on Bolberry Downs) then downhill to the hidden cove. The spectacular scenery on the way is certainly wild and craggy and you’ve even got some caves to explore when you get down there…only at low tide though!

Hope Cove to Thurlestone

This relatively easy walk is perfect for those who want to take in the beauty of both sea and countryside. The route from Hope Cove to Thurlestone offers sweeping views of the coastline, along with the opportunity to explore quiet coves and sandy beaches. It's a lovely walk for families or anyone wanting a more relaxed stroll.

South West Coast Path: Bolt Head to Salcombe

This scenic walk along the South West Coast Path takes you from Bolt Head to the picturesque town of Salcombe. The route offers dramatic cliff views and the chance to spot wildlife along the way. It’s an ideal walk for those who enjoy coastal scenery with occasional inclines. At the end of your walk, you’ll be rewarded with the stunning vistas of Salcombe harbour.

Kingsbridge to Frogmore

A peaceful rural walk that takes you through the heart of South Devon’s countryside. Starting from Kingsbridge, this trail meanders through fields and farmland before reaching the village of Frogmore. Along the way, you can enjoy the tranquillity of the landscape and spot wildlife.

Slapton Ley Nature Reserve

For nature lovers, this walk around Slapton Ley Nature Reserve offers an abundance of wildlife and a diverse range of habitats. The flat, circular route takes you through the reserve's wetland areas and along its shoreline, offering peaceful views of the lake and the surrounding countryside. It’s an ideal walk for birdwatchers and those seeking a quiet, reflective walk.

Overbeck’s Garden and Coastal Walk

A short but beautiful walk, this trail takes you from the National Trust property, Overbeck’s Garden, to the nearby coastline. With views over the estuary and the lush surroundings of the garden, the walk is a great way to experience the flora of South Devon. It’s a relatively gentle walk, suitable for a peaceful afternoon out.



Start Point to Prawle Point

A more challenging walk, the route from Start Point to Prawle Point follows rugged coastal paths with stunning views over the English Channel. This walk is perfect for experienced hikers who enjoy a more demanding trek, but the dramatic cliffs and wide-open views make it well worth the effort.
